European day of Environment AEGEE and YEE

AEGEE is one of the biggest interdisciplinary students' organisations in Europe. It is founded back in 1985 and it stands for Higher Education, Peace and Stability , Cultural Exchange ,Active Citizenship.
AEGEE's Flagship project for the period 2008-2009 is Sustaining Our Future (SUFU).
"Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."

This Flagship Project, initiated and carried out by a multicultural team consisting of young people from different parts of Europe, aims to raise knowledge and involvement of European youth and their communities in the topic of sustainable development.

As active members of European youth organisations, we see this topic as an important part towards creating shared sense of European identity and integration and feel that as representatives of future generation it is our responsibility to take an active role in it.

The Project makes its debute on 5th of June 2008 , World's Environment Day , a symbolic Day .We are organising EDE, European Day of Environment , an Action Day during which we want to activate the whole Europe.

Our aim is to Involve European Society , Inform for the current environmental issues and Raise awareness in the fields of Sustainable development .

We need motivated young scholars who are interested in organising an activity in their local community, their university , their school. In order to help in the process of brainstorming we have prepared a list of possible
