Dear fellows,
recently, I came across www.ecocho.com which is a search engine using yahoo servers (google canceled participation after initially supporting the project) . ECOCHO promises to plant trees for every 1000 web-searches that users do from their website. Test it, and maybe you would like to change your start-up page in your web-browser to ecocho.com and use it more frequently, instead of "googleing" through the www.
As soon as "ecocho", yahoo or google results…

Some quite simple measures can more than halve the daily emissions of an individual, with even bigger cuts possible if sectors like power…

Hey friends,
Here is a good example of what I would call an "Environmental mind-map". I found this one in the internet, but I think it is a great idea to draw a personal one yourself.
This is how it works:
1) You think of an environmental problem you know and write it down in the middle of a sheet of paper (e.g. climate change)
2) Then think of general actions which could improve the situation (e.g. save energy). Draw a…

Hey friends,
I just read about the new search machine:
http://www.ecocho.com/
This should be an alternative to Google, since for every thousand searches they commit to plant up to 2 trees.
What "up to" means and if makes the search engine carbon neutral I do not know.
Please test it and tell me what you think.
Best
Mika

I believe that the world's energy crisis can only be solved via the integration of power generation sources based on the geo-politico-social location of a country and energy conservation. Technological and energy source limitations are the least of the problem. Big countries will either have to adapt or go to war against countries with natural resources. Going to war against countries with natural resources will definitely not solve the problem but will only postpone the problem as we all know…

Climate change and biodiversity
Which impacts does the change in climate caused by human activity have on ecosystems and species composition? In which ways is your region afflicted by climate change? Can species just migrate to some other place, or are they bound to go extinct when their habitat becomes unsuitable for them? In this workshop we'll discuss the relationships between climate change and biodiversity.
On the…
