I am interested in Environmental Sciences, especially Systems Analysis (which I also studied) as well as the role of forests in global climate change. And of course I spend a lot of time working on this platform for www.eurotope.net to bring young people from all over Europe together to network and to exchange ideas. I hope this will contribute to environmental protection in the long term, since people work stronger together.

hi mika,
i'm beat, t'was a long and intensive week, but to what avail? a huge unfinished text with little convergence...well the technology aspect seems a bit more promising. adaptation less so, but we shall see...of course all the other topics are catastrophic.

sorry been out of touch. i saw you had sent some emails. i meant to respond but on the next day my account had expired. please feel free to write me here: eric.fee@web.de

Let's have a chat some time soon. How about we meet up sometime in Leipzig or Jena or Erfurt or even Dessau. It's all in about the same corner. Take care and hope to see you soon!

Hello, Mika,

Thanks a bunch for your info and contribution. I've already added my post to the event section. It's more organize of course. Thanks again, Mika.

I went to the field last week, to identify forest area use in Paser Regency, then I was crying during the trip... due to forest cover is now badly changing to palm oil plantation, open mining, then i often found forest fire everywhere.
Badly need to untied my crowded mind and planning to do action, between theory and practice i got, the current policy, and the real face of forest.
God opened my eyes and wake me up!

Hey, would you like to attend the event and revisit Bali, by the way?
Good luck for your study.

Hi Mika, it was pretty tiring to be quite honest. Averaged about 4 hours of sleep a night. We mainly just streamlined text the whole time, not really into the nitty gritty. Of course at the EU level there was all kinds of discussion and writing and commenting on position papers. Also had bilaterals to compare ideas with other parties. But hey I'll try and get a little report out at least on adaptation and post it somewhere here on the website. Maybe we could start a blog where people that attend or follow the convention meetings could leave their impressions for the others? Maybe this already exists somewhere and I just haven't seen it. Say I'm in Dessau now. How far are we away from each other? Anna is in Leipzig quite a bit lately and Anke lives in Leipzig. In fact she's going to be having a birthday bash sometime soon. So I'm hoping we can meet up. Well take care now,
Eric

Thanks so much Mika for the WBGU info! ;o)

Btw, I was attending a workshop by Prof. Stein Kristiansen from University of Agder, Norway. It was about Economic of Climate Change and Forest Conservation. It's was a great workshop especially for my faculty here, Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, not many of this kind economics-contribution-to-environment open-mind seminars/ discussions still. More over, in Indonesia, we don't have any government regulations obligation yet, to support green corporations (running to ISO 14001) especially for doing such environmental audit like I ever told you before.

Therefor I'd like to make it as my master theses besides also watching on the Carbon Credit issues. How about your opinion and also any recommendation journal/ references on this Carbon Credit besides from UNFCCC? Many thanks in advance, Mika! ^o^/

Go Green Spirit,
Dian
