Thank you so much for contact me.. I was happy to hear from you also. And sorry for my long reply.. Are you from germany also?I am Indonesian, so many rain forests here, so may be we can talk about it.*_* … nice to hear from you..^^
Well,
Cheers,
Oh Andrea, one though came into my mind recently: my former boss (when I worked for a rainforest project for GTZ in Fiji) Evelyn Reigber is now living in Passau and working there. She is very knowledgeable about rainforests and their protection and she has worked in Africa, Asia (I also think Indonesia) and the Pacific. You might want to contact her as resource person.
best
Mika
Hello Andrea,
It's really nice to meet you! ^^
I'm really sorry for belated answer your message.
I do love to take much concern on our rain forest conservation, but I guess I'm still beginner on it. I'm still doing many research and gathering as much information and also always finding out the effective ways & opportunities to save our beautiful rain forest. YES, I do agree with you about offering proper education as the main strategy. Mika giving me a lot of advices on it by started from my entire environment first.
And how about you?
Yes, absolutely we could contact each other by mail through eurotope or directly to my private mail (dkrahajeng@yahoo.com).
Well, I'm still learning to be able to speak German. Even it's really hard, but I Love it sooo much!! ^^
Hey Andrea,
welcome to the network. You should get in contact with Dian or Dessy from Indonesia, they are working on Rainforest protection as well. An interesting page about it is maintained by our member Rhett: www.mongabay.com
I am also active in rainforest protection, through the REDD issue...you find more about it in the group "forests and climate change".
Enjoy eurotope

About Me:
I am a teacher, not particularly working in the environmental sector but I am really concerned about our nature and therefore also about our future and I want to be active in environmental protection.
I am mostly interested in the protection of the rainforests which are so important for our climate. I want to become active in sustainably farm work and so on.
We have got a partner school in Indonesia / Kalimatan where we try to help people there to offer proper education especially to the children there who will hopefully pass their knoweldge on to their parents and so on.
I hope to find many new friends here from all over the world sharing similar interests.
